Final Blogging Task
After a long road of hard work of researching, planning and production I can honestly say I am very happy with all my work this year as I've dedicated a lot of time in making sure the majority of blogs have been completed.
I am very happy with the outcome of the music video and my ancillary products and the journey has been exciting.

Final progress review blog
My A2 blog is good in comparison to my AS blog. This year i added more deatail and blogged more consistantly.
This year i used different types of techonologies and websites. I used different websites such as prezi, sideshare, emaze etc... From there i then embeded the code and put them into my blog. Therefore my use of ICT has broadened this year
My blog is effective when talking about the research planning and production. It's in alot of deatail from when we was choosing our songs until the final complettion of the music video. All our blogs are clearly labelled. The planning stages is where we done the most blogs. As this stage took a lot of organisation commitment and cuminication.
Personally in my work there gaps. When we finished filming and we had started the editing stages i fell behined in the blogging. This was becasue i was focusing on editing and for a week i forgot to blog. Therefore there was a gap in my work. However this was just me other members in group managed to complete it.
Indivual blogs i produced all together was 74.
If i was given another oppurtunity to complete this i rekon i would have over 100 blogs. I would have blogged in deatail all the editing I did in the first week as theres no evidence. I put the clips in order out transitions in, put markers in to edit to the beat and made sure the lip sync was correct. However i wasn't able to produce blogs about this

Evaluation: Final Progress review
In comparison to my AS with my A2 media work I can clearly see and acknowledge all of my improvements and I feel content with how far I've come.
In AS my use of ICT was far more restricted as I repeatedly used the same media resources, consequently I would end up using a small, limited variety of pictures and words. However, I could of used a broad range of texts and different methods to present my ideas, through websites such as Wix. Where as this year I've developed my skills in all areas by varying the use of different media technologies. When presenting my ideas I have managed to vary the use of different media sources, for instance this time I've used sources such as ThingLink, PowToon, Slideshare and I have achieved in making my work more interactive rather than it being dull and full of words. Also this year I have made my work far more detailed and concise. During AS I didn't manage to attain the opportunity to use ICT to my full advantage as I didn't have access to internet at home therefore, I could only blog within school hours. Where as this year I have used my time wisely to complete all of my blog during as well as after school.
In terms of my 97 blogs they all have detailed explanations regarding the whole process from the beginning to the end. From the stages of choosing which song to use and to the stage of actually going out and filming and then editing the footage.
I think that the gaps in my blogging occurred whilst I was on my Christmas holidays,as I had forgotten to blog about my personal research, therefore I had a lot of work to make up for. But I made up for the time lost by spending extra hours after school, this way I gradually went back into the rhythm of blogging constantly.
If I could re-do or change in terms of my blogging I think I'd personally look for more media technologies,to present my work. The number of blogs would have increased if I had completed all of the blogging checklist.

4. Evaluation Question: How did you use media technologies in the construction and research, planning and evaluation stages?
MUSIC VIDEO
Through audience feedback i have learnt that they enjoyed the narrative of the video and most of the edits, we have use feedback from the ruff cut and improved it. things the audience said didn't work. I felt like it was important to change these things as the audience are the once that our productions are bases around. audience had said that the video needed colour as it was plain so we incorporated a black and white effect on the past tense clips which once the same audience watched again said it had created of and understanding.
Through reactions in the cinema i know that the video had a sentimental feel to it and was quite gripping to some. " the editing of the girl fading was effective as it was such a shock and was sad" said a member of the audience. however we did get some critism regarding the dress code of the characters. The audience didnt feel as though the costumes of the characters were suitable for the genre. Although we did research and thought we were meeting the codes and conventions the audience found that the costume was very appealing and did not let the artist stand out from the rest. From this i learned that even if you do online research on different artist you should also ask audience members what they feel are the codes and conventions of indie pop.
I have also learned that even if your video is appealing to the audience it is not also what they expect of you that matters. I have learnt that it is important to create exciting and captivating productions as the audience for my production are young and need a lot more engagement. This will encourage my audience to want to see future productions.
ANCILLARY WORK
Showing my audience my ancillary i have got very useful feedback on how i can improve it and what they like. they seemed to like the choice of colours used and also the use of the glow. They believe that some of my record label and copy right label information was squashed i have learnt that this could take affect as people may believe that they are able to copy right and use my production which could mean a loss in money.

production of ancillary product- work in progress
I am current working on my Cd outside panel- I am almost finished.
I discovered that one of the conventions to a debut album is a close up image of the artist. I did just that which is similar to the Ed sheeran debut album release.
Production of Ancillary product: Digipak & advertisement in progress
As I've started to create my 4 panel digipak, I've been taking screen shots throughout the process from the beginning to the complete digipak.
The shots are as followed:
- The final image I chose for the front cover with the artistic name of 'LUIS JONES'.
- Next I was deciding with what name for the album I would go for, my 2 options were 'First Step' and 'Only Yesterday'. Thanks to some friends who were helping me I decided to go for 'Only Yesterday'.
- After naming the album I started to look for images of guitars until I found one which I liked. Using the wand tool I removed all of the background and began to list/number the songs and aligning them according to the shape of the guitar.
- I started to then put in the bar code, legal information and record label logo.
- I finally then added the added the album name and enlarged the image of Hadi as well as adding the name of the album, artist name and record label logo in the centre of the album.
I then moved on to the inside panel adding a template of a CD and adding the album name and artist name. I started to then look through the pictures I had available and went for the one of Hadi sitting down and then used the wand tool again and removed the background. Finally, I then duplicated the image and made one larger than the other adding a shadow on both the images.

I started doing the front cover and inside of the digipak. After talking baout it with my teacher iv'e decided to change the CD to colour and use the same effect which is on the image of the guitar.
Also the font of 'Lewis Jones' Is going to be changed to the same as the track list.

Planning- Ancillary product photoshoot
Production of Ancillary product
As we already succeeded in completing the photo session to get the pictures and poses we desired, in today's class I began to continue practising with Photoshop and decided to use the picture shown below. Using the wand tool I removed all of the background to achieve the final shot. As I am hoping to stick to my black and white theme with only the guitar in the back cover being in colour.

Ancillary- Images i may use
Planning Ancillary product: Photos for digipak/advertisment
In today's lesson we accomplished our goal of getting together and taking a variety of photos for our album covers. We took close-ups, mid-shots and long shots from different angles so we could pick from all of them and decide ourselves on which one we were going to use for our album cover.
I created a GIF to show all of the potential pictures to use for my album cover.
The reason I wanted different poses, shots and angles was due to the fact that from my research I came to see that this was what other artist's from the same genre as mine did and used as well.

Ancilliary mock up
This is an idea i had for the inside of the digipak
It has a image of our artist on the left with a lyric book, and tour dates. Addtionally on the actual CD we would have an image of his guitar witch in featured in the music video and that is his main prop
This in the front. In has in big writing LEWIS JONES across the top of the CD benneth saying delux eddition, and under that would be a close up image of our artist face. On the back of the cover would be the song titles and who they feature. Another image of our artist but a long shot. And placed at the bottom would be the carcode cd number logos advertisement ect
This was another idea i had. but just for the back i couldnt decide between the two

Ancillary - Audience feedback

FEEDBACK
- change the position of text
- the guitar needs to be positioned properly and have an effect.
- remove record labels that are not for your artist.

Planning Anciallary products: Short list
Ideas of Fonts, Colours, layout and design.
Fonts
For our artist name on the digipak i was thinking it to be either bold and big and the top of the digipak or across the middle and a font covering the font of the digipak (Not over his face)
At the back for name of tracks ill include two fonts. One for the name of the song and one for the producer.
I wont include another font as thats 3 already. Ill resuse one for anyother writing.
Ideas of fonts include
- Font ideas
- Font ideas
- Font ideas
Colours
For colours i was thinking white background with guitar on back of digipak, and picture of our artist face on the front. with white edges fading into a white background.
Or a greenish take on things. Ill use an our artist sitting on a tree with his main prop (guitar) on the back of the digipak and on the front still have a picture of his face but with green edges and fade out into green to correspond with the back of the digipak
I covered the layout and desgin ideas when talking about the colours and fonts because i mentioned how ill incorporate them into the digipak
Design activity - Photoshop practise
In this lesson we had a teacher help us with how to get around Photoshop and learn what not to do. The skills I have acquired and got a hang of are;
- How to place an image and expand it without making the image blurry.
- Adding in text as well as trying out different fonts.
- Using 'Magic Wand' which is where we can remove the background that we don't want.
- And overall, getting the hand of using Photoshop with the basic skills covered.
I learnt that to avoid getting a blurry image it should be shot to fit the panel and not the other way round. I also have the barcode on but didn't manage to add a record label logo and the information to go with it.
